Hill Labs - Smartly supporting 450 staff.

When Hill Laboratories (Hill Labs) decided to join Workride for the NZ launch, they were excited to announce to their team of over 450 full-time employees the availability of this new staff benefit, aimed at improving health and wellbeing, as well as reducing the environmental impact of commuting to work.

Kirsty Holdaway - Chief Financial Officer at Hill Labs, is a chartered accountant with over 18 years of experience simply put Workride’s offering is "a smart, well thought-out benefit for our staff… with the added bonus of being cost neutral and in line with our company values around the environment and wellbeing of our people''.

a smart, well thought-out benefit for our staff..”

Chief Financial Officer at Hill Labs

Hill Labs is New Zealand’s largest privately owned analytical laboratory with six locations throughout the country. They use the latest technologies to supply a broad range of laboratory tests in three predominant testing areas: Agriculture, Environmental and Food & Bioanalytical.

Staff at Hill Labs now have access to a new bike, e-bike, or scooter for riding to work at a stunning offset of 32-63% off the in-store sale price all made possible through Workride, New Zealand’s ride-to-work benefit scheme.

Kirsty continues, “Having a large team, we are always looking for new benefits to offer the staff that are easy to implement, that our employees value and also help with staff wellbeing. With Workride there are no fees for using their service, other than of course the upfront cost of the ride benefit, which participating staff salary sacrifices pay across 12 months.”

For employers like Hill Labs, Workride stands out due to the ability for every staff to have the freedom of choice of their ‘work ride’. “Employees are allowed to choose whatever ride best suits them, it has been awesome to see the engagement from the team and knowing that there is a real impact with every benefit taken up is great to see,” Kirsty commented.

Workride's process is straightforward: Employers sign up through Workride's platform, and their employees then select their new ride from approved retailers. The employer covers the initial cost, with employees making a salary sacrifice over 12 months to balance it out. At the end of this period, the employees have the option to own their ride, effectively locking in their savings.
