Workride Ltd (NZBN: 9429051250836) is a New Zealand company headquartered at Te Ōhaka, K‑Block, Ara Institute of Canterbury, Madras Street, Christchurch 8011 (we, us, our).
When does this privacy statement apply?
It covers personal information collected from:
visitors to our public website (workride.co.nz),
employees enrolling in the Workride benefit,
employer representatives who administer the benefit, and
staff employed by participating retail partners.
What personal information do we collect?
Directly from you
We collect the following information directly from you:
Your contact details and details of your enquiry when you complete an online enquiry form.
Your contact details and your employer’s contact details when you complete an online referral form.
Your contact details, employment details, ride details when you request to join the scheme.
Your contact details when you are an employer managing the scheme.
Some of the personal information we collect directly from you may be mandatory and some optional. We will clearly show you at the time of the collection what information is optional. If you choose not to provide some of the mandatory information requested we may not be able to deliver the services and products requested.
From your employer
Scheme members: Your employer supplies us with your employment details and ride information, including any reported loss or repair incidents.
Retail-partner staff: If you work for a participating retailer, we receive your contact details from that employer so you can use the portal.
Automatically when you use our website or online portal
When you visit the website or portal we log technical information such as your IP address, browser, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked and time spent on each page.
If you are an employer representative or retail-partner staff member, we also record the actions you take in the portal (for example, quotes created or approvals given).
How do we use your personal information?
We will use your personal information to:
Verify your identity.
Provide services and products to you.
Comply with our legal obligations e.g. tax obligations.
Respond to communications from you, including enquiries and complaints.
Identify potential customers who may wish to use our services.
Improve our website, online portal and services.
To protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim.
For any other purpose authorized by you or the Act.
Where you have provided your consent, we will also market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically (e.g., by text or email) for this purpose.
Who is your information shared with?
We may disclose your personal information to:
Your employer where you are part of the scheme or a staff member at a retail partner.
Your employee where you are an employer managing the scheme.
Our service providers who process data on our behalf: Squarespace (website hosting & analytics), Zoho CRM (lead management). These processors act only on our instructions and do not share the data further.
A person who can require us to supply your personal information (e.g., a regulatory authority).
Any other person authorised by you.
How do we secure your information?
We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorized activity, or other misuse.
How can you access and correct your information?
Most of your personal information is available in the online portal for employees and employers. You may correct your information in the portal if you wish.
Alternatively, if you would like access to your information or to request a correction, please email us at support@workride.co.nz. Your email should provide evidence of who you are and set out the details of your request.
We may charge you our reasonable costs of providing you with copies of your personal information or correcting that information.
How do we use cookies?
We use cookies (an alphanumeric identifier that we transfer to your computer's hard drive so that we can recognize your browser) to monitor your use of the website. You may disable cookies by changing the settings on your browser, although this may mean that you cannot use all of the features of the website.
